Japanese power company Chubu Electric Power announced Monday it will shut the Hamaoka nuclear power plant (central Romania), following a request by the Government in Tokyo, according to AFP. The Japanese Government has asked the plant closed for security reasons the people staying in the area, a region of intense seismic activity.
"We decided to close units 3, 4 and 5 of the plant, " said company president, adding that he believed the Government's request "very serious", despite the fact that Japanese nuclear power plant complies with the earthquakes.
Reactors 1 and 2 of the plant at Hamaoka are already closed.

Istanbul: World leaders meet to try to develop a 10-year plan to help poor countries
The leaders of the 48 least developed countries in the world, those of donor countries and international organizations and institutions of importance (including the European Commission and World Bank) meet in Istanbul on Monday under the aegis of a UN summit to form a new plan helping the poorest countries on the planet in the next 10 years, announced Monday. At the opening ceremony of the Summit which will take 5 days were present European Commission President José Manuel Barroso and Turkish President Abdullah Gul.

Palestinian Authority announces that can not pay salaries for May since Israel stopped transferring tax collected
Palestinian Authority, the lead in the West Bank, said Monday it could not pay salaries for the first time since 2007 because of Israel's decision to stop transferring funds it collects on its behalf, said on Monday. Prime Minister Salam Fayyad said the Israeli decision has executive authority in a financial position "very difficult".
Fayyad said that since mid 2007, the Palestinian Authority paid "promptly" on the salaries of 150,000 employees who have, in the 5th of each month. "We are now on the 9th of May and I could not fulfill our obligations," said Palestinian Prime Minister.
According to Fayyad, Israel's decision was prompted by concerns of the authorities in Jerusalem about the agreement signed last week between Fatah and Hamas. The government in Ramallah has been in a financial position as "very difficult," Palestinian official said.
Government of Israel decided on May 1, to stop the transfer of funds, which represent about 70% of revenues Palestinian Authority, saying the money would reach the Hamas militant group considered a terrorist by the authorities in Jerusalem.

Pakistan president rejects the suspicion that his country has not done enough to pursue Bin Laden

Bulgaria's Kozloduy nuclear power plant personnel, partially evacuated after an increase in radiation levels
The incident occurred after the reinstatement of the reactor 5, which was closed for annual repairs on April 24 where he recorded an increased level of radiation due to high concentrations of isotopes of xenon (Xe-133). Gamma rays from the hermetic zone of the reactor with 10% exceeded the limit allowed.

Hamas and Fatah announced that they have reached a reconciliation agreement

Hamas won parliamentary elections in 2006 beating Abbas's party, Fatah. Tensions between the two parties culminated in 2007 with the occupation of Gaza by Hamas. All attempts at reconciliation between the two sides, mediated by Egypt, previously failed so far.
